  • I liked Prince of Egypt, although I can’t say it would be for everyone.
It was made for an audience familiar with story, let alone one familiar with
the Charlton Heston movie, “The Ten Commandments” which gets annual play each year.

It was also one of Dreamwork’s first animated films and it’s success led to further
animated films. This film came out at a time when practically the only movie
animation came from either Disney or Bluth. It was nice to see somebody new getting
into the game. Unfortunately, they didn’t continue with the 2D animation.

According to Wikipedia, the film made over $100 million in the US and over
$200 million worldwide. It outperformed ANTZ, although ANTZ was cheaper to make.

The story does get slow and I can’t say I’d watch it often, but the look makes
it one that deserves to be seen at least once.

  • Seems like we are on the same page when it comes to this movie.
    Costume drama with a nerve.

I will have a look at the sidebar-problem. Thanks for pointing it out!
